I want to start posting some of the projects that we've done over the past years. Most of them are on the current house we're in.
I'll start with this project which was to make better use of the space behind the house beside the deck. We had been talking about adding a fire pit area to the yard so we decided this would be a good spot for it.
The wood surrounding the entire fire pit is 4x6x12 and they're tied together with Fasten Ledgerlok 8in screws. I also added extra 2x4s to the bottom of the deck so that it would give the whole project a more finished look as well as prevent any critters from climbing under the porch on people.
The floor is cover with 1.5 ton of pea gravel. We rented a truck from Home Depot and picked up ourselves. I backed the truck right up to the fire pit area and we shoveled directly in. The and the whiskey barrels have 180lbs of concrete each to keep the 4x4 & lights stable.
There are 36 bricks surrounding a fire pit ring, all purchased from Lowes. I added the white L-brackets to the bottom of the 4x4 to add stability to the post when cementing it in. The hanging lights came from Costco in 48ft length.
We love to sit here and talk about life while watching the the kids play in the yard. The kids also love to roast smores while listening to music around the fire pit. We love the Duraflame logs combined with Hot stick logs.
